Borgo Vanchiglia (Borgh Vanchija in Piedmontese) is one of the historic districts of Turin, placed between the northeast border of the historic town and the confluence of the rivers Po and Dora Riparia. Developed in the early twentieth century as a working-class district with many factories, in recent years Borgo Vanchiglia has been converted into a residential neighborhood and has become one of the engines of the artistic and commercial creativity of the city. Old artisan workshops live together with artistic and cultural realities from different fields, such as design, theater, music and cinema. The neighborhood is lively both during the day and in the evening, with its clubs and bars. In the weekend it becomes the meeting point of young people who meet in front of the “aperitivo”. A few steps away, in the square, there is the Santa Giulia market. In the evening you can choose from a wide variety of restaurants and pizzerias in the neighborhood or move to Piazza Vittorio Veneto, in a ten minutes walk.
